The Ranger High School Lady Bulldogs will swing into full volleyball mode this weekend when they travel to Strawn to participate in the annual Lady Greyhound Volleyball Tournament. The tournament will be held from Aug. 17-19 in the SHS gymnasium. Ranger was scheduled to face Perrin-Whitt on Aug. 15, will join Strawn

New RC Basketball Coach excited to lead Men’s Team into another Great Year

Ranger College’s new mens basketball coach, Zack Verhulst, expressed his enthusiasm about stepping-in to lead the team to another great year. He was assistant coach on T.J. Cox’s staff as the Rangers’ qualified for the 2022-2023 NJCAA Men’s Division National Basketball Tournament. Coach Cox accepted a position with Northwestern State University in Louisiana.

Rangers look to cinch postseason berth

Heading into the final week of the 2023 NJCAA baseball season, the Ranger College Rangers know what they have to do. It’s win or go home time. The Rangers enter the final series of the season tied with rival Hill College for the fourth place in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference standings. A split against Weatherford could, head coach Scott Norwood, feels could be enough to send Ranger to the Region V tournament for only the second year in a row and only the second time in the past four decades.

Rangers advance to second round with win over Seminole State

Mykell Robinson knocked down two free throws with 19 seconds left in regulation on Tuesday afternoon and lifted the Ranger College men's basketball team to a 78-75 victory over Seminole State College in the opening round of the 2023 NJCAA Men's Division I National Basketball Championships. Robinson's free throw was part of a 41-point second-half performance by Ranger that broke open a 37-37 halftime deadlock.

Oscar Villarreal ended the 2023 powerlifting regular season on a high note this past weekend. The RHS senior clinched a berth in the upcoming regional meet by winning the 275-pound weight classification at the Strawn Invitational.
