Heading into the final week of the 2023 NJCAA baseball season, the Ranger College Rangers know what they have to do. It’s win or go home time. The Rangers enter the final series of the season tied with rival Hill College for the fourth place in the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference standings. A split against Weatherford could, head coach Scott Norwood, feels could be enough to send Ranger to the Region V tournament for only the second year in a row and only the second time in the past four decades.
“We know what we have to do,” said Norwood, who guided RC to the regional tournament for the first time since the 1980s.
Ranger, which sur-passed the 30-win mark in back-to-back years last week, and Hill College are both 1414 in NTJCAC play. The Rangers will host Weatherford in a doubleheader on May 3 and then close out the regular season on May 6 in Weatherford. Hill hosts McLennan on May 3 and then travels to Waco on May 6.
