Caiden Cuellar came up with the biggest play of the night for the Ranger Bulldogs on the final play. The freshman defensive back tackled a Perrin receiver at the Ranger 2 as time expired off the clock to preserve a wild 42-41 victory over Perrin-Whitt despite lightning and high winds. The Pirates’ had attempted a last-second 35-yard pass on fourth down in an attempt to steal a win in front of a large P-WHS crowd.
With the win, Ranger nailed down its second straight victory and improved to 2-1. Perrin-Whitt slipped to 0-3.
