Lady Panthers run to 11th at Brownwood Invite

The Gorman Lady Panthers continued to shine on the trails this season. The squad raced its way to 11th overall at the Brownwood Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Overall, the GHS girls were 11th in the 18-team field. Hadli Hampton paced the Lady Panthers in the race. She finished the race in 77th position. IN all, more than 200 girls competed in the varsity girls’ division. Delila Crain

The Gorman Lady Panthers continued to shine on the trails this season. The squad raced its way to 11th overall at the Brownwood Cross Country Invitational on Saturday. Overall, the GHS girls were 11th in the 18-team field. Hadli Hampton paced the Lady Panthers in the race. She finished the race in 77th position. IN all, more than 200 girls competed in the varsity girls’ division. Delila Crain

and Kayla Falco also finished in the upper half of the race. Crain was 92nd overall, while Falco sprinted to 103rd. Esmerelda Ervin was 105th. Also competing in the race for the Lady Panthers were Emma De La Cruz (159th), Virginia Bivens (160th), Kyndall Scitern (166th), Alina Torres (167th), Yahlee Torrez (180th) and Jesscia Solis (189th). Triston George stood out in the varsity boys’ race. He ran his way to 30th in a field of 171 runners. The Gorman Junior High squads also did well. The junior high girls’ team finished seventh overall. Ella Buffe, Adyson Hobbs and Daniela Rodriguez paced the GJHS girls. Buffe finished 34th, while Hobbs and Rodriguez were 45th and 48th, respectively. Kilee Guthery and Addyson Oxfrd also did well, taking 62nd and 99th, respectively. The junior high boys placed eighth overall. Leading the way for the Panthers was Dylan Sanchez, who placed 11th in the 88-runner field, Lucas Winter (57th), Jacob Leal (66th) Juan Solis (67th), Kellan Scitern (68th) and Carson Johnson (84th) also ran in the race. The Gorman cross country teams will be back in action this weekend in Zephyr. The varsity boys will lead off the action at 9:30 a.m. The varsity girls will follow at 10 a.m.
