The Bluff Dale Bobcats scored twice in the final 5 minutes of the third quarter to break open a tight affair on Friday and then held on to claim a 56-26 victory over the Ranger Bulldogs in front of a small crowd at O.C. Warden Stadium.
Despite playing without starting quarterback Leo Martinez, the Bulldogs played Bluff Dale close throughout the first two-anda- half quarters. Jame Uhlhorn’s 15-yard touchdown run early in the third pulled Ranger to within 12,m at 3220.
The Bobcats, who suited up just seven players, hit stride in the closing minutes of the third. Bluff Dale scored on a short 6-yard pass play and then tacked on a 50-yard scoring run by Austin Saucedo to push its lead to 48-20 at the start of the fourth quarter.
