The Ranger High School Bulldogs head into the final week of the 2023 high school football season in an odd situation. They can win and lose on the same night.
Following a tough loss to third-ranked Keene on Friday, Ranger needs a victory over No. 12 Priddy on Friday and then get some help from the pollsters in order to reach the postseason for the second time in the past three seasons. The Bulldogs head into their game with Priddy ranked No. 5 in the sixmanfootball.com independent rankings, one spot shy of an opportunity to play for third-place.
Now 4-5 for the year, Ranger suffered its fourth straight setback in a 76-58 loss to Keene. The Bulldogs are 12 power points behind Waco Vanguard for fourth in the independent standings. Vanguard, along with most of the rest of the top four, is unlikely to loss points in the poll as they wrapped up their regular season last week.
