CITY, STATE REGULATE POLITICALSIGN PLACEMENT

With the local campaign season upon us, the Code Compliance Department of the City of Eastland wants to remind, and inform political candidates, supporters and opponents, any campaign sign placed within view of the public must follow City and State rules; City of Eastland Ordinance #720-4 requires no sign be placed within any city or state right of way or easement, upon any utility pole, rock, box, tree or other items. Signs must be a minimum of 15 feet from any curb, or 20 feet from any street where no curb is present. Signs should be placed on the property owner’s side of any sidewalk present. All signs placed must be with the property owner’s permission.

The library is closed for remodeling until the end of March or early April. A new roof has already been completed. The inside and outside will be painted. There will paint on the inside. There will be new bookshelves and furniture. It will be a complete makeover.

Ranger College Softball has a long and storied past. Beginning the program in 1986, Ron Butler created the team with success on his mind. Originally, he did not want to be the coach of the RC Softball team. He said he would recruit but did not want to coach. However, he fell in love with the players and their spirit and drive as he recruited them and decided to coach them after all. After selling at farmer’s markets for 15 years, and running a small restaurant in Cisco for 5 years, Kerry and Joy Hedges have slowed things down a notch. While they have downsized the farm, they still enjoy sharing their experiences and ‘lessons learned’ with others.
