The library is closed for remodeling until the end of March or early April. A new roof has already been completed. The inside and outside will be painted. There will paint on the inside. There will be new bookshelves and furniture. It will be a complete makeover.
In an earlier article we acknowledged how we received the money. In this article I want to acknowledge all of the volunteers. We had seven volunteers come and box up all of the books. Because of their hard work, we were able to box up all the books in one day. The next day we had 4 home school volunteers who broke down all of the extra boxes and prepared them for recycling.
Athletes from Eastland H.S. gave us their Saturday morning. They loaded all 320 boxes of books and some furniture onto trailers and then unloaded the boxes and furniture at the storage units. We had other volunteers who helped the high schoolers and drove the trucks that pulled the trailers. We had 20 volunteers in all. I appreciate their help. There is no way we could have completed this job without them.
