The Comanche Maidens scored 44 points in the first half on Friday and then held off a furious rally by the Eastland Lady Mavericks to claim a wild 78-75 victory in a key District 8-3A showdown. With the win, Comanche moved into a tie with Eastland for second in the district race. Both teams moved to 4-1 in 8-3A action, one game behind state-ranked Brock. Cisco Livestock Show Results
Cisco Livestock Show Results

The Cisco Livestock Show was held on January 6, 2023, at the Cisco ISD Project Center. Tom Farmer, vocational agriculture teacher from Eula, judged the show. The Cisco Livestock Show Association distributed almost $2,600 in prize money to the show exhibitors. Numerous individuals and businesses also contributed banners and travel bags to champions, reserve champions, and showmanship contest winners. The stock show would not have been possible without the hard work of the exhibitors, their parents, and school officials. The Association appreciates the tireless efforts of our local vocational agriculture teachers, Ginger Holton and Jerry Conring, in putting on the stock show and supporting the local FFA chapter members in their many endeavors.

How Smart Was Sis Nusbaum When She Ran Her Husband Off For Investing in Hog Creek Company?

Whenever men meet “to tell stories of great achievements of the gigantic oil industry, someone will always tell, amid a breathless silence, the amazing story of Hog Creek Carruth.” He called himself J. W. “Hog Creek” Carruth. The investors he betrayed no doubt called him much worse. His “amazing story” began in the Texas boom town of Desdemona.
