Terri Widener, a Cisco native, is well known for her Bambi eyes, her passion in honoring veterans, and her desire to let people know about the hidden treasures of the Cisco College Library.
She first started working in the library 23 years ago but later became manager of the college bookstore for 18 years. After the bookstore was outsourced to a different company, she transferred back to the Library, where she is now the Director of Library Work Study and Periodicals.
“There is so much in this library that people have no idea about, like our Archives Room,” she said. This room contains thousands of items of historical interest, organized in loose leaf binders, on subjects such as Cisco history, the Cisco dam, the Cisco Kid, earlier versions of Cisco College such as Britton Training School, all the college’s yearbooks, and old photographs.
