Cisco FFA has 10 students attending Area Leadership Camp this week!! Camp is being led in part

By Tommy Wells Renee Alexander admits to not liking to have to change jobs. In fact, she hated the idea of having to find a new position so much that when she found out the owners of the Ranger Care Center were looking to retire after more than 40 years in the business, she decided to take extreme measures.

The Eastland County Retired Teachers Association donated over 200 books to students of Siebert Elementary in May to promote reading during the summer. The students get to keep the books and take them home and continue their reading skills.

By Tommy Wells At the age of 81, Dr. Sandra Hazelip stunned everyone when she announced she was going to take Jules Verne’s advice and travel around the world in 80 days. Not necessarily by balloon, but she and her friend, Ellie Hamby, did.

I’ll begin my story by saying that I really like cats! I grew up on a farm and we had cats - lots of cats. I liked all of them and when I was young I took them riding in my doll buggy. I had fun and they didn’t mind the ride.

County law enforcement staff face hazards every time they get behind the wheel at work. The Texas Association of Counties (TAC) is helping reduce those risks through its innovative driving simulator.

The capital letters are still up, thank goodnessthe old girl is still alive...which I came home to learn and boy-howdy was I glad to see the Theatre name was still up reminding folks like me that the old girl is alive and well--and moving forward, so we can all be proud.

Thursday, June 8th, the DAC will host a Bunco for the Cure party. Starting time 6:00 PM. Come out for an evening of fun and know you are contributing to a worthy cause.

Rain, Rain, Rain, isn’t it wonderful! Yards are looking great! Lakes are on the rise and most of the tanks I see are full. I hope it continues so we have plenty to last us through the summer this year!
