Cottonwood Musical Friday January 27th
The Cottonwood Musical is gearing up to roll out 2023! Hope you can join us Friday January 27th for this month’s dinner and music. We’ll be serving Texas Chili and/ or Pinto Beans with all the toppings, cornbread, desserts and drinks. It all starts at 5 PM with the Music starting at 5:30. The Musical features a variety of tunes from blue grass to country, some country classics and even rock ‘n roll. You’ll be sure to find something to toe tap to!

Results from the 2023 Cisco Livestock Show
The Cisco Livestock Show was held on January 7, 2023, at the Cisco ISD Project Center. Roy Richey, a retired vocational agriculture teacher from Cross Plains, judged the show. The Cisco Livestock Show Association distributed almost $2,800 in prize money to the show exhibitors. Numerous individuals and businesses also contributed banners and travel bags to champions, reserve champions, and showmanship contest winners.

The Eastland Lady Mavericks pounded out a pair of impressive wins this past weekend and rolled to the girls’ consolation honors at the Eula Holiday Tournament The Lady Mavs, who evened their record at 9-9, opened the threeday tournament on a sour note, falling to Hermleigh, 58-29.

Texas, Don’t Become Crazy California
Did you know that California used to be a conservative state, more so than Texas? They had Ronald Reagan for governor. Once he wasn’t governor anymore., it started going south. San Francisco began to dictate policy. Conservatives and Christians didn’t push back. San Francisco pushed the LGBT agenda and took God out of our schools under the guise of “Freedom of Religion.”

Loys Allmand Little
Loys Allmand Little was born October 20, 1932 in Baird, TX to James Robert and Beulah Laningham Childers. She was welcomed by brothers Tommy and John. They settled on a farm near Ovalo that is still in the family today. Loys graduated Salutatorian of her South Taylor High class of 1950.

Water levels in Area Lakes evens out
Area lake levels, considerably lower than usual, have recently evened out due to moisture received in the region. The extended drought this summer caused levels to steadily drop until about a month ago. Lake Cisco, Lake Leon, and Lake Proctor all help provide water to costumers in Eastland County.
