The Jim Ned Indians handed Eastland a tough 62-42 setback in the first round of the tournament, which began on Dec. 28. The Indians’ 20-point win didn’t come easy. In fact. Jim Ned was forced to rally from an early deficit to collect the victory.
Grady Galyean buried a three-pointer early in the first quarter and gave the Mavs a n early lead. The Indians answered back with an 8-0 run before Preston Rose pushed a shot home to spur a late run by the Mavs. Isaiah Hays nailed a three-pointer in the waning seconds to keep the Mavs close, ay 14-11, heading into the second.
