“After the death of King David, Solomon his son was made king. It was near the beginning of his reigh that Solomon had a visit from God in a dream, asking him what he wanted from God. Solomon didn’t ask for long life, riches or victory over his enemies but an ‘understanding heart’.
In my personal study of the word in that request, I found that it had to do with ‘hearing’, and that Solomon was asking for a ‘hearing heart’. And God’s answer was: ‘I give you a wise and discerning mind, so that none like you has been see before and none like you shall arise after you’.
My prayer then is: ‘Dear Lord: David Hullum has tried to be faithful in the past assignments You have given him. In the will of Your Divine Providence now you have placed an even greater responsibility upon him to serve as a judge in our county. I along with all of Eastland count ask that You O God, would give to your servant David Hullum, a ‘hearing heart’. And that he would wield his influence as a judge under the direction of Your Holy Spirit, knowing that You dear Father deal in righteousness.”
