The Gorman High School Lady Panthers found the perfect way to wash away the memories of their first loss of the 2022-23 basketball season by upending the Gordon Lady Longhorns in overtime on Dec. 30.
The Lady Panthers outscored Gordon by a slim 3-2 clip in the extra frame and claimed a 26-35 victory in a key District 19-A matchup.
With the win, Gorman improved to 22-1 for the season and, more importantly, remained unbeaten in district play with a perfect 2-0 mark. Gordon slipped to 1-1 in district. The Lady Longhorns got off to a fast start against Gorman. Gordon posted a 10-6 run in the first quarter and cruised into the second with a 4-point lead.
