FORT WORTH, TEXAS, January 30, 2024 – Avery Walton, a FFA member from Cisco, captured Champion fine-wood purebred Ewe with Benz 3472 in the Junior Breeding Sheep Show at the 2024 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) on January 21.

January 2024 Arrests 1-3-24 Kaylea Lanoue, 27 of Cisco Tx, was arrested by Officer Munoz for Warrant- No Liability Insurance 1-6-24 Rogelio Ramirez, 32 of El Paso Tx, was arrested by Officer Munoz for Cisco Municipal Warrants 1-6-24 Lazaro Celestino- Palacios, 33 of Lubbock Tx, was arrested by Cpl.

The Cisco Fire Department is proud to announce Firefighter Ashley Perez will be promoted to Captain on February 20, 2024, and will take over B Shift. Perez has been with the fire department since April of 2020. Congratulations!

Ed Pet Brown, who was head of the crew that laid the brick for the brick streets in Cisco beginning in 1919, held the Middleweight Wrestling World Championship Belt. More recently, Billy and Suzzone Franks, who own ranch land where Eastland and Callahan counties meet, have won 13 Halter Quarter Horse World Championships and 9 Paint Horse Halter World Championships. Their trophy room is fantastic. They are selling their Three Nails Ranch on the Scranton Exit Road off of I20 and have bought Terry Bradshaw's Ranch near Thackerville, Oklahoma. Bradshaw, another World Champion, led his team to 4 Superbowl Championships.

Dr. Cone Rice, whose dental practice in Eastland burned to the ground on April 15, 2014, is now opening a new dental office, Complete Dental Care, in Cisco. The grand opening will be on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at noon.

CISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT--January 2024 Spotlight

Laurie Kincannon teaches yoga twice a week at Cisco College and at the Wellness Center at Eastland Memorial Hospital.

King and Queen Lobo XCII (92nd) and their court will be presented at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 in the Cisco College Harrell Fine Arts Auditorium. The public is cordially invited to join in the celebration.

The Cisco boys’ and girls’ basketball teams barely had to break a sweat this past week to pick up key district wins. Both squads used s stingy defensive effort to roll to lopsided wins over the Hamin Pied Pipers on Friday.
