Nelda Louise Gary passed peacefully from this life on January 27, 2025 surrounded by loved ones at the age of 93.
Nelda was born on March 20, 1931 in Putnam to Myrtle and Burl Reed. She was raised and graduated high school in Putnam. At the age of 19 she married the love of her life Bill Gary and together they created a legacy with 4 children, 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren. Nelda was a member of the Bible Baptist Church family in Cisco for 52 years. Everyone knew her as Granny and she never met a stranger. She would always tell you exactly what she thought no matter what. Granny loved all of her “kids” as she called all of us and treated everyone like her own. She was a strong woman and dedicated Christian. She raised many kids and created so many great memories with her family and friends. Granny worked as a seamstress and in home health care until she retired in her 80s.
Nelda is preceded in death by her mother Myrtle Reed; father Burl Reed; her husband Bill Gary; daughter Linda Wells; her 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
