The Annual C.A.S.T. for Kids will be held at Lake Leon on Saturday, Sept. 23rd. The event is presented by Texas Farm Bureau Insurance.

Tea Party Patriots of Eastland County welcomes you to a screening of The Great Awakening, a third documentary in the Plandemic series. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.; the movie begins at 6:30 on Thursday, September 14, in the Big Dam Room of the Myrtle Wilks Community Center, 1498 West I 20 in Cisco.

Set in stone - fortunately one can say, Gorman’s Peanut Festival is held on the second Saturday of September. Gorman’s 37th Annual Peanut Festival took place this weekend - with some threat of storms. As it turned out, the storms kept a few miles distance the long anticipated parade was not Rained On! The Eastland High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both turned in stellar outings on Sept. 7 in Waco. The EHS squads both finished in the top two in their respective divisions at the Hewitt Midway Invitational at Lake Waco.

The Hawley Bearcats scored twice in the first quarter an then held on to claim a 33-20 victory over the Eastland Mavericks in a non-district showdown on Friday.

Blake Carr rushed for two touchdown and passed for two more on Friday and powered the Clyde Bulldogs to a 3421 come-from-behind win over the Eastland Mavericks.

Pleasant Hill Homecoming wil l be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church September 10. The church is located 2 miles East of Hwy 183 on FM 2526. Annual 2023 Charity Golf Tournament Is Sept. 9

Bruce Bugg, Jr., Chairman, Texas Transportation Commission The star on the Texas flag somehow seems to shine a little brighter every year as more and more people move to Texas to find a thriving economy and a better quality of life. While that growth is wonderful to see, it does bring challenges to our transportation system.

Eastland County cattlemen we need your help! Houses for Healing is a ministry in Abilene which provides free housing to those who are sick and in need of medical care in Abilene. There is a tiny house built to represent each county in the Big Country. The door to separate the bathroom from the main living quarters will be branded with brands from that county.

The Eastland High School class of 1977 is having an impromptu gathering on Saturday, September 23, 2023. The gathering will be held at 1 p.m. and take place at 517 E. Sadosa St. in Eastland. The plan is for chips, dips, sandwiches and other finger foods. All EHS class of 77 members are invited and asked to bring your favorite dish, drink, lawn chair, and swim suite!!
