I sure wish I could complain about all the rain we’ve been having but it’s just the opposite. It hasn’t been this dry for quite some time. It would be a great time to have a water well for our yard. I know our yard and plants would greatly appreciate one. And, I know our farmers and ranchers need it more than ever right now. Keep on PRAYING for it and I’m sure God will send us our share eventually! He always does!

Rising Star Wildcats It’s about that time!

Come and meet the new Pastor and his family at First Baptist Church in Gorman. Sunday August 13th will be a great time to do so. We will be serving the Lord’s Supper at the morning service and then that evening at 6:00pm we will be having an ice cream social, and the community is invited. All who attend are also invited to bring homemade ice cream or your favorite storebought flavor. Bringing ice cream is not required, just appreciated, especially Butterfinger! We will have plenty! What could be better during the hot weather we’ve been experiencing for so long than ice cream?

The market for steers and heifers weighing 500# and under were steady to strong. The market for steers and heifers weighing over 500# were $3-$6 higher. We had a good run of cattle with the market being higher on all classes of cattle.
