My name is Ryder Warren, and I am the director of the Eastland Economic Development, Inc. I want to thank the crew at the Eastland Telegram for this opportunity to update our community regarding economic development efforts taking place.
Let me first show a lot of appreciation for our Eastland leadership. Economic development in Eastland begins with our Board of Commissioners. Using their foresight and dedication to Eastland, they appoint the Economic Development Board of Directors. These five individuals have a vision for economic growth in our city, and they do a phenomenal job working towards that goal. Many of you already know most of the members of this board so please show your appreciation when you see them out and about. Our EEDI Board of Directors are (President) Vicki Bradley, (Vice President) Mark Pipkin, (Secretary) Carolyn White, (Member) Terry Slavens, and (Member) Matt Crum.
The Eastland EDI is a “Type A” organization. According to rules and regulations that govern economic development groups, Type A EDCs…“are typically created to fund development projects such as business infrastructure, manufacturing and research and development, and can also fund military base realignment, job training classes and public transportation.”
