By Ginger Tobin Star Pride Group of Rising Star met for their monthly meeting on Friday, August 25, 2023 with eleven members present and Barbara Medley, President officiating at the meeting, held at Rising Star Library.
Two new members were accepted and the group will happily accept others who are interested in helping Rising Star with needed projects which will benefit all residents.
Subjects discussed were a benefit bake sale on Saturday, September 9 in front of local grocery store to benefit RISING STAR FIRE DEPARTMENT (RSFD). Firemen have recently been going out of town for fires in the local area several times weekly; and have requested supplies of various snacks and bottled water to be consumed during their efforts to fight area fires. Members voted unanimously to fulfill this need with proceeds from their next bake sale of cakes, cookies, pies and other delicious BAKED ITEMS.
