Dear Editor and Eastland County Voters, In case some of you are not aware, we have a serious problem in Texas. It seems we have not been paying attention to the Representatives that we have voted for in the House. Mike Lang was a great Representative and did right over and over!!!

The Cisco Lady Loboes and the Gorman Lady Panthers can officially say it what everyone already knew. They are among the best basketball programs in the Lone Star State.

Area Coaches Selected To Lead Big Country FCA 2024 All-Star Festival The Big Country Fellowship of Christian Athletes expresses congratulations and gratitude to the area coaches selected to lead the Big Country Chevy Dealers 2024 FCA All-Star Festival. This year is a special year for us as we celebrate 25 years of All-Star Football.

Arlin McCrary of Carbon, TX, a member of Eastland FFA, caught a calf during the 2024 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s Calf Scramble, earning a $500 a show heifer and the chance for up to $16,000 in scholarship awards. McCrary is the son of Mickey Ivey and his award was sponsored by The Viola Family.

Eastland County – On Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, the Texas Rangers along with the Eastland Poarrested William James Culverhouse, 71, of Eastland, Texas, for improper relationship between educator and student. He was then booked into the Eastland County Jail. The arrest comes after the Rangers were contacted by EPD back in December to assist with an investigation involving a female student at Eastland High School. This case was presented to the 91st District Court grand jury who handed down a true bill indictment. Additional questions should be directed to the Eastland County District Attorney’s Of- fice.

I am ready for Spring! How about you? I am not a cold weather person, never have been, never will be. I know we gripe about the 100 degree weather but I prefer it to freezing. I hope you all have had a warm, dry place to be this winter. It is an exciting time for Gorman! I have several things to tell you.
