Texas A&M AgriLife: If you Love It, Click It!
Texas A&M AgriLife: If you Love It, Click It!

Valentine’s Day is a good time to show your love by making sure that before you start your vehicle, all passengers- big and small- are always buckled up correctly. This is even more important as we continue to see an increase in traffic crash fatalities each year. Taking those few seconds to buckle up your children into their car seats and boosters, and making sure older children and adults are buckled up, is the most crucial step you can take to protect those you love in a crash. Those few seconds can save your family and friends from having to go through a needless tragedy. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), among passenger vehicle occupants killed in 2020, over half were unrestrained. This number of unrestrained occupants is the highest it has been in over ten years. So, we need to show a lot more love and respect for our seat belts.

THE CONGRESSIONAL PRAYER CAUCUS FOUNDATION, INC. A CALL TO PRAYER FOR AMERICA
THE CONGRESSIONAL PRAYER CAUCUS FOUNDATION, INC. A CALL TO PRAYER FOR AMERICA

Throughout the history of the United States, its citizens and inhabitants have drawn strength, hope, and guidance from prayer. From the very first Continental Congress through every form of adversity and blessing, Americans have fallen to their knees and implored God Almighty to protect their families and to heal their land. The freedom upon which America is founded affords the right to any individual to decline to pray if he or she so desires. However, that same freedom allows those who believe in the power of prayer to utilize that great opportunity to ask God to bless and sustain our nation. That freedom is not diminished merely because one is elected to public office. Quite the contrary, the cloak of authority placed upon the shoulders of a public servant should be an inspiration for those who believe in the power of prayer to use that great power to ask God to bless and sustain the nation they love and serve.

About D.L. Moody
About D.L. Moody

D. L. Moody, having his father to die at his age of four, received an education equivalent to the fifth grade. Many who are familiar with his accomplishments as an evangelist, while ministering to children and conducting international ministry, may fail to realize his educational limitations. Knowing how to read moderately, he had to skip many words as he began his ministry teaching and preaching to children. The following quote from D. L. Moody is quite profound. Based upon the scripture found in Luke 18:17 Moody made the following statement.
