A good example of revisionist historians is a 1997 book called The Godless Constituion, written by two professors at Cornell University. This book was used in many universities as a text book. According to the authors of this book, the framers of the constitution did not want statements of God because they (our framers) wanted to “create an utterly secular state” in which religion would be kept strictly private and separate from government.
