Last week, health care leaders and trustees across Texas made the trek to Austin for the Texas Healthcare Trustees annual Healthcare Governance Conference. HGC is the largest meeting in the country for hospital and health care trustees and board members, and it’s one we look forward to partnering with every year! July 14, 2023: Special Session #2 When the first Special Session ended with no final property tax relief bill, Governor Abbott quickly called a second Special Session to deal specifically with property tax reduction and relief.

A suspect in the fatal shooting of Eastland County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy David Bosecker, has been identified. The suspect, 42-year-old Cody Pritchard, was booked into the Stephens County Jail for Capital Murder of a Peace Officer.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the loss of Deputy David Bosecker, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a domestic fight in the line of duty. Deputy Bosecker served with unwavering dedication at the Eastland County Sheriff’s Office. This is a devastating blow to our office and community and we are deeply saddened by this loss. He was our friend and our brother.

The Eastland County Sheriff’s Office has set up a patrol vehicle with flowers on it at the Sheriff’s Office. If anyone wants to lay flowers on or near the unit, they are welcome to. The services for Deputy David Bosecker will be Saturday, July 29th, 2:00pm at the Brownwood Coliseum. There will be a memorial fund set up in lieu of flowers.

At approximately 9:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023, Deputies with the Eastland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic fight in progress at a residence on Hwy 183 between Cisco and Rising Star.

ECWSD’s Superintendent and operators attended the Texas Water Utility Association’s Central West Texas 54th Regional Annual School in May of this year. They took this opportunity to enter the best tasting water contest with a sample straight from the plant and won. This win will allow the district to enter the contest at the state level in September during the TWUA 105th Annual School. The district board of directors would like to contribute this win to a strong dedicated team which includes the District Superintendent, Plant Operators and Staff. ECWSD has worked hard and diligently over the last few years alongside Enprotec/ Hibbs&Todd to produce the best quality water possible from the plant and will continue to strive for excellence.
