The recent Arctic cold front did more than chill the Big Country, it also cooled off the Eastland Mavericks.

History was made last week in Eastland County.

Cisco High School’s King and Queen Lobo XCII were presented with their court on Thursday, January 18 in the Cisco College Harrell Fine Arts Auditorium. King and Queen Lobo, selected by popular vote of CHS’s student body were announced to the public during the coronation ceremony.

The State of Texas’ Eleventh Court of Ap-January 18, 2024 regarding a proceeding in which Steven Gerdes, citizen of Ranger, Texas, asks the Court to order the City of Ranger to schedule a special election for the recall of Ranger City commissioners Kevan Moize and Samantha McGinnis. The opinion noted that Kevan Moize ran for mayor of the City of Ranger in 2023 and lost. He was appointed as a city commissioner to the seat he now occupies. Samantha McGinnis is also a city commissioner, whose recent candidacy was unopposed. It’s Not Enough to Just Vote Republican Most of us realize our country is on a very bad course. The president and his Democrat party have allowed our borders to be overrun. They promote gender- changing surgery for children, and males competing in girls’ sports. They are forcing us to replace fossil fuels with so-called “renewable energy”, which will greatly increase the cost of every aspect of living. The complete tally of changes they are trying to force on society is too lengthy to list here. But these changes all have three things in common: They are supposedly done for “the common good,” they give the government coercive, dictatorial powers, and they rob us of our individual freedoms.
