It Seems To Me
It Seems To Me

History records that about 6800 Americans were killed in battle to gain our independence from the British. In WW I, the blood of 116,516 Americans was given that we could still remain free. Again, in Korea, Americans gave the lives of 40,000 with more than 100,000 wounded, for the cost of freedom. Americans were called upon to sacrifice 58,220 American lives for freedom in Vietnam, 258 in the Gulf War and more than 2500 in Iraq and Afghanistan. FREEDOM HAS NEVER BEEN CHEAP! What we take for granted came at tremendous cost: “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” came at the price of blood. WE MUST NOT FORGET! We have an American flag that symbolizes that freedom. And everywhere it flies, other countries know that. But we have forgotten and are in danger of losing our freedom. Crime without consequences has produced fear on big city streets. Morality without God has left many without hope. What if the patriots of old could speak from the grave as they look at America today? Would they say with regret,” I gave my life for this”? Or would they say, “our blood was worth this for you”? Patriots knew what they fought and died for and said so: “We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessing of liberty for ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.” It seems to me there is more benefit in teaching American history than woke ideology and gender pronouns. If we did so, maybe, just maybe we could produce leadership in Washington that represents: “we the people”. Fly your flag proudly!
