By Levi Freeman, Love Oak Pharmacy in Eastland has taken a significant step towards becoming a “holistic destination” for health and wellness. The pharmacy has opened a state-of-the-art 24/7 health club, equipped with Matrix equipment covering every muscle group and including cardio equipment on the second floor. This new addition is in response to Dr. Benjamin McNabb’s frustration with only being able to provide “50% of the health solution to customers through medication alone.”
Dr. McNabb and his wife Heather recognize that healthcare is moving towards a “value given” model of care, with prevention becoming more incentivized. The Love Oak 24/7 Health Club aims to provide fitness and diet regimens to its customers, and the gym has had over 155 members sign up in just the first two weeks of opening. The gym space was formerly used for meetings and merchandise storage.
There are three tiers of membership available at the Love Oak Health Club. Tier 1 is a $5 per month “Heart+” membership, which offers only discounts on prescription medications. Tier 2 is a $25 per month “Fitness+” membership, with an annual gym enhancement fee of $39. The Fitness+ membership provides 24/7 health club access, initial “Healthy U” success session with a lifestyle coach, cardio equipment, strength equipment, free weights, free Wi-Fi, and the member exclusive app. Tier 3 is the “Wellness+” membership, which costs $40 per month and also has an annual $39 gym enhancement fee. It includes all the benefits of the Fitness+ membership, along with monthly “Healthy U” success sessions, access to the Fit3D body scanner, Hydromassage lounger, and Mystic Unity Spray Tanning Kiosk (scheduled to open in June 2023).
