Once the home of one of the top Jaycee rodeos in the state, the City of Ranger is about to get knee deep in the bull again.
The Ranger Citizen’s Task Force announced last week they would bring cowboy sports back to the City of Flowing Gold next month when they host the Roaring Ranger Bull Riding showcase. The event will be held May 20 at the former livestock sale barn.
“We (as a group) are just trying to do something to help the community and bring more people to town,” said Ken Chaman, who serves on the nonprofit RCTF. “This idea was presented to us and we were like ‘let’s do this and try and bring people to Ranger.’” Charman said the RCTK has partnered with Chute 2 Productions, a Texas-based rodeo production company, to create the event. Chute 2 Productions has staged events throughout North Texas over the past 14 years, including the recent Bull Riding on the Beach show in Granbury on March 19.
