Before Billy Woodrich opened Billy’s Restaurant in Cisco, he was a celebrity chef in Fort Worth. His wife, Christina, had her own business, an online boutique with thousands of followers, which she operated from the family’s home garage.
Billy and Christina rarely saw each other, as he would leave to work at his restaurant, Billy’s Oak Acres Barbecue, from 7 a.m. and not return until midnight, after he had finished his books for the day. Their 5-year-old child, Levi, would already be asleep in bed.
So when Billy’s friends Chris and Janet Carter, who had moved to Cisco in 2005, urged Billy to move to Cisco and open a restaurant, the couple saw it as an opportunity to spend more time together as a family.
