Margrett “Maggie” Lancaster, 80, of Carbon, Texas passed away after a short illness on January 14th, 2023 at the Rising Star Nursing Facility, Rising Star, Texas.

Maggie was born in Hutchinson, Ks, the daughter of Leonard “Sam” and Grace M. (Feese) Cook. Maggie’s father worked for Foy Construction Company and the family moved wherever the jobs would take him, so Maggie attended many different schools in many different states in the Midwest, from New Mexico to North Dakota. They had so many fun and crazy times while traveling together, but it was always hard for her to leave behind the school friends she had made when they had to move on to the next jobsite.

After graduating High School, Maggie moved to Denver, Colorado, to live with her aunt and uncle while she attended The Denver School of Cosmetology. She would later have her own Beauty Shop built onto her house in the country, outside of Hutchinson, Kansas so she could stay home and raise her two kids. In 1996 Maggie married Thomas Lancaster and moved to his home in the city of Hutchinson. They converted one of the bedrooms into a shop for her business, where she worked part time before she retired and they moved to Carbon, Texas in 2005.
