You were very protective of your newborn; clothed it, fed it, held it close when frightened, rocked it when it cried, corrected it when hit the dog with a hard toy. You wanted your child to know some actions weren’t acceptable.
You taught that certain parts of their body were private. You took your child to church and Bible school to know God’s way of living. You did your best to meet their needs.
Then you entrusted your child to public education, to those trained in reading, writing and math to develop good mental skills and learn history so as not to repeat past mistakes.
