Janice Glazner (Cypert) 83, of Graham, Texas passed away at home Friday, April 7, 2023.
Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, April 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Graham, Texas.
Visitation will be held 6 - 8 PM, April 15 at Morrison Funeral Home, Graham, Texas.
Janice (Cypert) Glazner was born July 4, 1939, Munday, Texas to T.B. Cypert and Anna Belle Cypert.
She married Jeff Glazner on June 15, 1957, Anson, Texas. Janice was a remarkably loving, accomplished person. She was the cornerstone in the lives of her husband and her four sons, and she radiated warmth into the lives of relatives, friends, and eventually, students. She worked for several years as a teacher’s aid, and in 1983, at the age of 44, she began coursework toward a teaching degree at Midwestern State University, driving round-trip from Graham to Wichita Falls five days a week. She finished in three years, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1986. She taught initially at Shawnee Elementary and, for many years, at Woodland Elementary. Janice was Graham’s Elementary Teacher of the Year for 1998 – 1999, the first year the award was given. For the 2004 –2005 school year, she received the Achievement Award from the Mu Lambda Chapter of the teacher’s honor society Delta Kappa Gamma. During her twenty five years of teaching, she was affectionately known to her students as Mrs. G.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Glazner, two brothers, Tom (Rosemary) and Ron Cypert, four sons, Greg (Debra Gonzalez), Michael (Sue Zielinski), David (Cristie Glazner), and Tim Glazner, four grandchildren, Rachael (Bryce Caughron), Jeffrey (Hannah Andritsakis), Emily, and Kaeleigh Glazner, and numerous other beloved relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister La Nelle Shoemake.
