The political atmosphere of our country saddens us when elected leaders disregard the fundamental rule of law and put aside our Constitution. Something within us says: this can’t be happening to America”. Our place in the world is weak and former allies have made pacts with those that hate us. Millions of Americans are not better off than they were two years ago. Politically, we suffer from paralysis of analysis. We’ve analyzed the problems over and over until we are sick of hearing. We’ve heard a hundred times that: “the border is no longer secure; we’re not energy independent anymore; inflation is crippling us”. Why not rally around one who knows how to correct it?
Patriotic Americans still believe we are an exceptional country. What are we to do?
The Bible records in Second Kings nineteen, when the kingdom of Judah was threatened, that the king literally laid the matter out before God, and cried out: “Oh God, save us… that all the kingdoms of the earth may know, YOU are God alone”. (A band aid on a bleeding carotid artery won’t save a life and America is bleeding out while Law and Constitution are ignored). The best advice is to do what the king of Judah did. Now if you want to see all Americans really united, there is one solution, and we celebrate it this time of year. The Bible recorded Jesus saying, in John’s gospel: “if I be lifted up, I will draw all men to me”. The crucified Christ died, was buried and rose from the grave. It seems to me that “lifting up Christ” is the one solution that can unite us and in which we can all participate wherever we go. And you can make that truth known when you vote for candidates with Biblical values.
