Josh Beaty, Field Representative for Texas Farm Bureau was among guest speakers for March at Ranger Lions Club. Beaty began by saying that Texas Farm Bureau is well known as an insurance agency, but he also wanted to highlight additional services offered.
Texas Farm Bureau has 500,000 + memberfamilies, Beaty said, which gives a powerful voice in advocating for agricultural issues and development of youth programs.
Beaty commented that in 2023, more food must be raised on less land. This underlines the importance of Texas Farm Bureau’s priorities on a state level, which includes protecting landowners’ rights to surface water and groundwater and protecting current state tax provisions that limit the burden on producing food, fiber and other agricultural products for consumers; and Right to Farm protecting the rights of agricultural producers to engage in normally accepted agricultural practices on their land.
