I hope y'all come out Thursday at 7:00 to catch our 'Poetry for Those Who Are Scared of Poetry' class. It's at the Hilton Center, 309 Conrad Hilton Blvd. in Cisco, and I know it'll be fun AND instructive. As I said last week, Priscilla Bettis and Shann Tajiah don't do things halfway.
I'm troubled, though. You see, this was originally scheduled for February. February, obviously, is associated with Valentine's. Poetry is associated with Valentine's, right? And some of those aspiring to write Valentine poetry might secretly admit to being scared of it.
I'm troubled, because the ink was barely dry on CWC's January commitments--including poetry in February-- when a new and different opportunity (a table reading of a screenplay) came along, and I unceremoniously pushed poetry to March. Then winter weather happened, so I shoved it further down the calendar to April. That's why we're here, at last, ready to dive into poetry, and only now am I wondering: Did Priscilla intend this to encourage any nervous beaus with their Valentine rhymes?
