The Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) will meet on Tuesday, April 11 at 2:00 in the first Presbyterian Church of Stephenville. The chapter will celebrate San Jacinto Day, April 21, 1836 when the Army of the Republic of Texas led by General Sam Houston defeated the Mexican Army which was led by Santa Anna. This is one of 13 Honor Days recognized by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Plans will be made to attend the national convention in Galveston on May 4-6.
Members of DRT are women who are direct descendants of a man or woman who honorably served the Republic of Texas prior to February, 1846. Bosque Chapter members live in Somervell, Hamilton, Erath, Bosque , Comanche and Eastland counties.
