Monthly Report

We still traveled tons of miles on transports. We sent two of our Deputies, who are Master Peace Officers, out for more training. Deputy Stubblefield is now certified through Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as a Courtroom Security Specialist and Deputy Watson was certified as a TCOLE Firearms Instructor. We share information between us and several of the surrounding counties. A lot of the same people that we deal with are the same ones they deal with. Through that information sharing, we were able to recover approximately $90,000.00 worth of stolen property and return it to the rightful owners. We are also assisting them with thefts that they have had involving some of the same people. We had a few notable incidents this month. Deputy Jacksons quick thinking during a call was instrumental in saving a young man’s life. On another incident, Deputy Jackson recovered over 10 pounds of Methamphetamine and over 5 pounds of Fentanyl, a street value of $577,000. During one of the extreme cold days, deputies responded to a business in Desdemona of a female who was disoriented and naked. Deputies were able to assess the situation and able to locate her nearest family member, from Oklahoma. She was clothed and taken care of by MHMR Deputy Harris until family could arrive. Nicole Butler was hired on as a deputy. She finished her field training for the Sheriff’s Office and is now out on patrol. She will be a great addition to our team. We finally learned that the DNA results from the remains found in Ranger several months ago were those of Krista Brown. We are continuing to investigate her death. If you have any information that you feel would be helpful, please reach out to the Sheriff’s Office.
