It is approxiamtely 100 times more potent than morphine and fifty times more potent than heroin as an analgesic.
Fentanyl was first developed in 1959 and introduced in the 1960’s as an intravenous analgesic. It is legally manufactured and distributed in the United States to pharmaceutical products, by patients physicians and pharmacists, and dope dealers.
