Tayton Conerway might have cemented himself in Power Ranger history on Saturday afternoon. Who better to be the Purple Ranger?
Conerway pumped in a season-high 37 points and spurred the Ranger College men’s basketball team to a bit of history. The Rangers nailed down their second Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference title in the past three years with a convincing 83-70 victory over Hill College in front of a large – and loud - Sophomore Night crowd.
“Every win is huge, especially at this time of the year,” said RC head coach T.J. Cox, who guided the RC program to its first NTJCAC title since 2021. “Obviously, winning the championship and cutting down the net is fun, but this is just a piece of what we are trying to do at Ranger.”
