Dear Editor and East- land County Residents “I would never go to a small hospital in a rural town" was my stance growing up in a large city. Should the need arise, I would just drive to a bigger hospital to get the care I needed. That all changed on Au gust 8, 2024.
After a day of beating the heat with my four young children, we went to bed not knowing our lives were about to change. In the morn - ing my husband found me unresponsive and not breathing. He called 9-1-1 and started CPR until the EMTs arrived.
