I Did a 31-Day Journaling Challenge and FAILED
I did a 31-day journaling challenge and expected to come here and tell you about all the wonderful mental health improvements I experienced and all the writerly insights I gained. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the results I expected.
First, there was the lack of mental health benefits. Dumping my troubles on the page did help me get perspective on various irritants, but so what? I felt no sympathy or love from an inanimate piece of paper. Likewise, listing things I was grateful for fell practice my faith, I talk out (often in writing) my troubles and offer my gratitude to Someone. I need more than an impersonal piece of paper to hear my grievances and gratitudes. Today’s feature image is a page from the “journal” that does give me results.
