The Journalism Class at Cisco College had a special visitor last week. Amy O’Brien-Glenn, general manager of the local newspaper, Eastland County Today, visited the class to answer questions about what it is like to run a small-town newspaper.
When asked what it was like growing up in a newspaper family (Amy’s father is longtime news publisher H.V. O’Brien), she responded, “It was fun. The newspaper newsroom used to be full of people. Even last week, we were having fires, the scanner's always going, people are trying to gather information, trying to get people out to get a picture–it is always kind of exciting.”
“And it is fun to be part of the community,” she said. “I remember that growing up.”
