Thomas Morrell Terry, Jr. passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025 at the age of 87, surrounded by family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Patsy Terry; parents Thomas Morrell, Sr. and Zora Eppler Terry; son Jeffrey Terry; and brothers and sisters Bill Terry, Dorothy Fox, and Wanda Ervin. He is survived by his children Dr. Greg Terry (Laurie); Sydney Platt (Jack); and Kim Terry (Tacy); Grandchildren Craig Platt, Brittany Verwers, Steven Terry, John Terry, and Masyn Terry; and several great grandchildren.
Tommy was born in Cisco, Texas on December 8, 1937. After he and Patsy married in 1955, they lived in Mason, Anson, and Austin where he worked as a nursing home administrator. In 1966, he got a job with the Humble Oil Co., and they moved their family to Baytown, TX. He worked at the Baytown Refinery for 30 years, and was most proud of his involvement with the startup of the Fuels North area of the refinery in the late1970’s. He retired from his position as a chief operator at Exxon (formerly Humble) in 1996.
