SAVE THE DATE! On June 5, 2025, we will be celebrating the 100th year anniversary of the creation of the 11th Court of Appeals.
In March 1925, the Texas Legislature passed legislation creating the 11th Court of Appeals to be located in Eastland. A United Press story from that time noted that “Residents of the district will have to furnish suitable quarters for the court, together with a library and equipment before it becomes operative . . . . [I]t is probable the new court will open next fall which gives the district time to make ready for it.”
The citizens of Eastland County eagerly embraced the opportunity to establish the Court. Largely due to their hard work and determination, suitable quarters and a library for the new court were in place by the end of April 1925.
