Superintendent Robby Stuteville submitted his resignation effective February 20, 2023, to the Rising Star ISD Board of Trustees. David Evans, Rising Star ISD Board President, called a special meeting of the Board of Trustees to discuss the resignation and appoint an acting superintendent until such time as a superintendent could be employed.
Monty Jones, the Rising Star Principal, has been appointed acting superintendent. Mr. Jones will continue as Principal with the additional role of acting Superintendent. He as well as all employees of Rising Star ISD will continue to have the best interest of our children at the forefront of everything that occurs at the District.
The past is history which cannot be changed. We learn from the past and go forward. Today we are weathering the storms from past decisions. We are striving to make sure that our children are educated in a safe, loving, healthy, and secure environment. The future brings the Spring events, promotions, graduation, Summer break, and then a bright Fall where we will once again greet all our children with open loving arms as they continue their education at Rising Star ISD.
