By Scoutmaster Amber Rasbury VFW Post 4136 has once again expanded their community service with the agreement to serve as the Chartered Partner of Troop 203 of Texas Trails Council. As the first-ever Girls Troop in Eastland County, Troop 203 will serve the girls in Eastland, Cisco and Ranger to pursue the Aims of Scouting: leadership skills, character development, personal fitness and citizenship in the “classroom” of the outdoors.
Scouting America troops are open to boys or girls, ages 11-18 or sixth-twelfth grade, and participate in such outdoor activities as camping, hiking, climbing, fishing and aquatics and leam practical skills such as first aid, navigation, personal safety, outdoor cooking, use of tools, and outdoor ethics. Troop 103, our local Boys Troop, and Troop 203, our new Girls Troop, invite those interested in learning more to attend an Open House Sunday April 6th at 5pm located at 300 Park Hill Road, Eastland.
