“Journey to a New You, Choices for Change” was held March 1 at First Methodist Church in Eastland. A day of wellness, education, movement, and friendship was enjoyed by participants. The day started at 9:00 a.m. and ended at approximately 3:00 p.m. This was a partnership between Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Eastland County TEEA, Eastland Civic League & Garden Club, and Eastland Memorial Hospital. The following classes were available to rotate through during the day…Financial House in Order by Attorney Sarah Adams, Live a Fearless Life by Kathy Wilbanks, Foraging, Nature Nurture by Ash Ozcan, Start Seeds For your Garden by County Agent T.J. Cummings, Signs of Stroke by Shelley Abernathey & Kathy Glidewell & “Bee” Natural, “Bee Happy” by Babshi Spiett, Brian Schaefer & Babshi Spiett, and Bloom & Bow – DYI Gift Bag Décor class by Paula Schaefer.
In addition, everyone enjoyed movement classes of Tai Chi, Yoga & Zumba. Eastland Memorial Hospital had EMT-P Michael Foster on site to answer questions from participants about Signs of Stroke and Yexalen Ortiz, Zumba Instructor at EMH lead the group in beginning Zumba and promoted her wellness classes at the Hospital.
