Ranger, Texas – A traveling exhibit from the National Library of Medicine, “Graphic Medicine: Ill-Conceived and Well-Drawn,” will be available on the Ranger Campus from March 31 through April 13 and our Brown County Campus from April 14 through May 5.
In a traveling exhibition and companion website, the National Library of Medicine explores personal stories of illness in Graphic Medicine: Ill-Conceived and WellDrawn. Graphic Medicine uses the combined language of words and pictures in a comic medium that gives approachability and emotional impact to these personal stories and even to the clinical data they sometimes include. Learning about illness and treatment can be an effective coping and healing strategy for the author and sharing that information with readers can transform a negative experience into a positive one.
Golemon Library is at 1100 College Circle, Ranger Texas. The exhibition will be available at no charge to the public from March 31 through April 13. The display will be available during all regular library hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM, Friday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and Sunday 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. To get to Ranger College, take Interstate 20 - Exit 349 (at the Love’s currently under construction). Head North one mile. Ranger College is on the right. Golemon Library is halfway around the loop.
