We are just over halfway on our “Around the World in 80 Days”. The Lord has blessed us to be able to make the first half of this exciting journey with adventures of seeing impressive sights and meeting many wonderful people. We have also experienced some of the most exciting activities, from a husky sleigh ride in Lapland to a Hot Air balloon ride in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt.
We have had a busy schedule and little time for resting. Our first day to take an afternoon nap was on day 40 (how appropriate), and we must admit we enjoyed that nap a lot! We appreciate the support so many of you have given through your comments on our blog, Facebook, and Instagram pages. It has been encouraging to know that so many are interested in our journey. We have been asked, “How can you afford such a trip?” Well, our travel is relatively inexpensive and cheaper than purchasing a new car! The choice was “purchase a new car” or “go on an around-the-world trip.” It wasn’t a difficult decision for us to make.
A special thanks to CBS evening news and KTAB in Abilene for doing stories about our trip. Here is the link to the first story CBS did last Monday. h t t p s : / / w w w . cbsnews.com/video/ octogenarians-to-travel- around-the-world-in-80-days/#x They are doing a longer version on their Saturday morning show, and we think it airs from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. central time. If you miss that on TV, we will post a link later.
